This is the piece of the wing of "The Big Bitch" (B-17) presented to me in Saint-Vougay, Brittany, France by the French associations: "Amicale du Octobre 21 1942" and "Brest44," (inscribed and autographed by them) whose mission it is to keep the memory of my father's downed Flying Fortress alive from generation to generation in gratitude for the American and British liberation from the Nazis.

Bev, what a beautiful, heart-warming story! How happy I am for you, that you could find your father and feel close to him, truly close, knowing him at last.

There are, indeed, miracles in this world.

Love,
Susan

What a beautiful article, Bev. I'm not prone to crying (my family calls me the ice queen), but every time I read one of your posts about this journey, I tear up. Thanks for sharing it with us!
